Balatro's sound effects are from Freesound dot org. They're CC0. You can just put them in your game. Currently imagining Higurashi with xmult sounds
[⚠️WARNING: COMPLETELY BANANAS COMPARISON DETECTED IN POST – PROCEED WITH CAUTION ] The normal music in B3313 is like Daily Passing By in Higurashi, and the night music in B3313 is like Daily Passing By (Celesta) in Higurashi
Forbidden alternative timeline where instead of being replaced with music from later chapters, all the formerly-royalty-free music that got removed from Higurashi was replaced with PANICPUMPKIN music
Higurashi episode 7: Minagoroshi
What's the videogame equivalent of the novel's "great opening sentence", in terms of overhyped micro-element of the opening? I'm thinking it's the sound effect or transition when you pick "New Game" or finish character creation - like the Higurashi laugh or the EarthBound wow.

If Higurashi was free, she'd be called Rika Furige *I receive precisely 1 like from a literal, actual cymothoa exigua inside a deep-sea fish's mouth, thus deluding me into continuing this bit* If Oyashirosama stole some original Higurashi CDs, that'd be kamigekakushi
"Tetris versus game that takes you back to the exact same RNG seed each round" sounds like a plot twist in the first third of a Higurashi game that makes Keiichi's eyes bug out, but there are actual arcade Tetrises that worked like this.
How do I convince Omori fans to play Higurashi without having to let slip the inconvenient detail that Higurashi contains no RPG elements whatsoever and yet is inexplicably longer than Omori
